Slavic Soul Party! 2/24

SSP: Fiery Gypsy brass, soulful Balkan anthems, and hip-grinding American funk: Slavic Soul Party! is just what it says. Brash and strong as slivovitz, these nine musicians have forged a virtuosic new brass band music in the heart of New York City – melding Gypsy, East European, Mexican, and Asian immigrant backgrounds with American jazz and soul – and “developed a reputation for delivering a great time.” (NY Times) One of the hardest working bands in New York, SSP! plays nearly 100 times a year in the US, Europe, and beyond.

TUIB 2/17

Tangled Up In Blue is a Yale College based student-run folk/bluegrass group founded in 1986. They're repertoire includes everything from old traditionals and to favorites by Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Band, and more. Their twice annual Beez n' Cheer concerts bring a lively crowd of hundreds of students who can wait only for: Wagon Wheel.
Come get your fix of TUIB and some Wagon Wheel lovin' Wednesday 2/17 at BAR - 10pm

Opening for TUIB are their good friends Plume Giant:
Nolan Green, Oliver Hill, and Eliza Bagg can be found boozily awaiting the spring on front porches across the nation. If they were perfumes, they would be lavender, ginger and honey, and if they were legumes, they would be parsnips, parsnips and parsnips.
